Columbia Business School is delighted that you have accepted our invitation to speak at our school, and we hope to work with you to make your presentation or commentary widely available to a broader audience beyond those physically in attendance. As such, we would like to record your presentation and allow public access to it, primarily in the furtherance of the academic objectives of the event and of the Business School. To that end, we ask for your non-exclusive and royalty-free permission as follows. This permission is not a transfer of any copyright that you may hold with respect to your presentation.

You hereby give permission to The Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York, acting through Columbia Business School (“Columbia”), to record your voice, name, physical likeness, and appearance in connection with your presentation or participation specified above.

The same applies to photography. You further permit Columbia:

  1. To maintain in perpetuity copies of such recording in the collections of Columbia, and to make preservation copies of the recording; to allow access and other uses of the recording consistent with Columbia’s standard practices.
  2. To reproduce, exhibit, distribute, broadcast, digitize, edit, or otherwise use such recording in whole or in part, for any academic, research, or other purposes of Columbia, by any method and in any media, whether now existing or later created (including by digital or social media transmission) without obligation to you or subject to other restriction. Among other activities, Columbia may post the recording on a Columbia website, and make it available through Columbia’s use of YouTube or through any other means for making presentations publicly accessible.
  3. You affirm that your presentation is your original work and you have all necessary rights to grant the above-described rights to Columbia.
